Case study, local SEO
A remapping business in Chester: third in the map pack in five weeks, from no website at all
A specialist vehicle remapping business with one location and no website came to us in the summer of 2026. A site with a page per service went live in July, the Google Business Profile was built properly in the same weeks, and the monthly routine started. Five weeks after launch the profile was third in the map pack for the business's main search, from unlisted. In month two, clicks from Google were up 500 per cent on month one. Both figures are Google's, both are on this page with their period and their caveat, and the caveat is the important part: the numbers are real and they are small.
Written by Daniel Stoychev, who did the work. Figures read at the end of August 2026. The client is not named, at their choice.

Starting point
Nothing to audit, which made the order of work obvious
There was no site, so there was no indexing report to read and no speed to fix. The only asset was a business that did real work and had customers who could be asked for reviews. That is the cleanest starting point there is, because the order of work is the order in which Google notices things: the profile first, because it decides the map pack; then a page for each service, because those decide the organic results; then reviews, because in this market they decide the gap to the leader.
The recommendation in the free check was short for the same reason. A site with a page per service, a profile set up properly alongside it, and the routine. No content plan, no link campaign, nothing that would have been spend before the basics existed.
- 1
July, the build
A site with a page for each remapping and tuning service, written after a call about what each job involves and what changes its price. Photographs of real work. Mobile performance measured at 98 out of 100 in PageSpeed Insights before launch.
- 2
The same weeks, the profile
Primary category chosen for the money search, the predefined services ticked, real opening hours, real photographs, and the profile linked to the page about the service the business most wanted, not the home page.
- 3
Week 5
The profile entered the map pack in third place for the main search. Reviews stood at eleven against the leader's 235. Titles adjusted from the first month's query data; the review routine handed over in writing.
- 4
Month 2
One new page from the query report. Clicks from Google up 500 per cent on month one, impressions up 1,026 per cent to 2,399, 39 of 40 pages indexed. The report said what the next limit was.
The figures
Each number, where it came from, and what it does not prove
| Figure | Source | Period | Caveat |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3rd in the map pack for the main search | Google's map results, checked by hand from a phone in the area | Week 5 after launch, from unlisted | One search, one position; the competitive city term sat at position 11 with no clicks yet |
| Clicks +500%, 7 to 42 | Search Console, performance report | 30 days against the 30 before, read late August 2026 | A standing start flatters any percentage; 42 clicks is real and small |
| Impressions +1,026%, to 2,399 | Search Console, performance report | Same 30-day comparison | Impressions are Google showing the site, not people choosing it |
| 98/100 mobile performance | PageSpeed Insights, mobile | At launch and re-checked in August | Speed is a pass mark, not a ranking; every site we build is held to it |
| 39 of 40 pages indexed | Search Console, Pages report | Late August 2026 | Indexing is the first step, not a result |
| 11 reviews against the leader's 235 | The profiles themselves, counted | Late August 2026 | This gap, not the site, is now the limit, and the report said so |

What this page does not say
It does not say the business is first for anything. It does not say what the 42 clicks were worth, because the client counts the enquiries and we report what they tell us. It does not say the map pack position is permanent: it depends on reviews arriving at a steady pace, and the routine for that is now the client's to run with the wording we gave them.
And it does not say five weeks is typical. The map pack leaders in this town had many more reviews but weaker profiles. In a town where the leaders have both, the same work takes longer, and the free check counts your leaders' reviews so the timescale in the proposal is honest.
What transfers
The order of work, not the timescale
The profile before anything clever. A page per service, written from what the job involves. The routine from month one. That order is the whole of our local SEO service and it is the same on every account, which is why the how it works page reads like this case study with the numbers taken out.
For an established business the first step is different, because there is a site to fix before there is anything to build. The tuning site case shows that version. The price of either is on the pricing page: this account sits on the Local tier.
